Issues like perfectionism, performance-based worth, and harsh judgment can erode one's sense of security, leading one to questioned their faith and God. For over 15yrs Anger Monkey has helped pastors and believers of all faiths navigate through anger, pain and sadness that often comes when faith and anger clash
Anger and Ego
If your Ego was an instrument would it be a Tuba or a flute? Ego Death is dying to yourself, isn't that what we do when we forgive someone? When Jesus was literally dying to himself on the cross, he had empathy for those soldier's ignorance, asking his father to forgive them for it. Anger is the defense of the Ego, small Ego small temper. Learning how to tame the Ego is the key to solving many anger issues.

What Self Loathing Looks Like
It is a hyper critical self image that demands perfection. A person who has shame as a core issue will beat themselves up endlessly without mercy. A person who experiences shame feels flawed at the core. The bad feelings carried within the self [such as guilt, self loathing, and feelings of failure] are not a result of what they did, but instead are about “who they are. The problem with shame is even though one knows God loves them and accepts them, the don't believe it because the don't love and accept themselves

Faith and Shame
When shame becomes the window through which one interprets hard times and suffering, daily struggles take on an over spiritual or sinister meaning. A fender bender, speeding ticket or even a sickness become lessons sent from God to correct and purify. Instead of accepting that trials and troubles hit everyone, life becomes one lesson after another unknowingly they they are victims of their own thinking. They believe God is rarely is pleased with them, unless being "broken" by Him.
Why So Angry
Faith provides comfort for many, but in rigid religious environments, splitting everyone good or evil and every event from God or Satan can cause anger and confusion, magnifying anger when reality doesn't align with our expectations.

This can stem from:
Shame and Guilt from Perfectionism: High expectations of moral purity create pressure to perform flawlessly, fostering resentment when individuals or communities fall short. Spiritual Abuse
Fear of Abandonment and Judgment: Teachings emphasizing eternal damnation or divine wrath can lead to anxiety and anger, especially when questioning faith feels like betrayal.
Patriarchal Structures and Abuse: Authoritarian hierarchies often enable control and misuse of power, sparking anger over injustice, particularly toward women and children.

Triggers in Fundamentalists, Pentecostals and Evangelicals
Several common triggers exacerbate anger within these communities, often rooted in toxic divisive teachings, not these movements in general.

Conflicts Over Social Issues: Debates on topics like Gaza, Israel, abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and cultural "wokeness" fuel perpetual outrage, viewing societal changes as threats to divine order.
Authoritarianism and Control: Strict obedience to leaders and doctrines can breed resentment, paranoia, and repressed anger when personal autonomy is suppressed. "Shunned" by leadership for questioning leadership

Abuse and High-Control Environments: Patriarchal teachings often excuse harm, leading to trauma, fear, and anger with "Don't touch the Lord's anointed".
These issues highlight how faith, when tied to fear and rigidity, can provoke deep-seated anger. Recognizing Spiritual Abuse is the first step toward reconciliation.
